Snow Day Make-Ups

Monday, January 14th, 2013

As we all now, some heavy winter weather weather derailed two school days prior to Winter Break and they were initially re-scheduled during our MLK and President’s Day, but due to interest and input from the community about the importance of not having school on MLK Day, the Des Moines School Board voted that classes will not be held January 21 and February 18; there will be NO school for students as well as teachers and associates.

District and school offices will be open both days, and all other employess will report to work

The two “snow days will be made-up Monday and Tuesday April 22-23, 2013 which is the first two days of our April Break.

Capitol View will NOT be in session on the following days:

  • Monday, January 21- MLK Day is recognized as being a day dedicated to community service. With no classes on on this day, we hope teachers and parents will encourage their students to take time to attend an event, participate in a project, or find some other way to appropriately commemorate this day.
  • Monday, February 18- President’s Day

Capitol View WILL be in session on the following days:

  • Monday, April 22
  • Tuesday, April 23
