Hello! My name is Jessica Manning; this is my eleventh-year teaching for DMPS and my seventh year at Capitol View! I have a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Upper Iowa University and a master’s degree from Grandview University. I have endorsements in ELL, reading, and language arts and am currently working on my gifted and talented endorsement while pursuing an education specialist degree from Drake University. I have previously taught second, third and fourth grades, and this will be my third year in kindergarten. I am looking forward to another fabulous year working with your kindergarteners!
My name is Kristy Roberts. I studied early childhood education at DMACC and elementary education at the University of Northern Iowa. I have been a Kindergarten teacher at Capitol View since 2016. I taught one year of 2nd grade and one year of K-3 Reading Intervention for the district prior to that. I love working in early childhood education! Before becoming a teacher with DMPS I owned and operated a preschool and child development home in Polk County, Iowa. This is such an important time for social, emotional, physical and cognitive growth and development. I want to help your child develop a LOVE for learning! Outside of school you will find me spending time with my husband and three sons. I love to watch them play football, basketball, baseball and drive race cars!
My name is Tim Robinson, and I’ve taught at Capitol View since 2007. I received my BA in music from Drake University, and then went on to receive my MS in Elementary Education, also at Drake University. I love teaching kindergarten because it’s one of the most important introductory parts of a child’s school career, and it’s amazing to see how excited they are to learn and grow! When I’m not at Capitol View, I enjoy weightlifting, reading, and spending time with my friends and family.
