I received my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education with a Special Education endorsement from Iowa State University. I love teaching preschool at Capitol View Elementary! Preschoolers are so fun to work with! They are energetic and excited to learn. This age group definitely keeps me on my toes and I often find myself learning new things each day. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading, and traveling to new places.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences/Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing at Texas Woman’s University north of Dallas and began my teaching career near Dallas, Texas teaching 2nd -6th graders. This is my 20th year of teaching in the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Program in Des Moines—spending the school year doing what I love…reading stories, playing with toys and games and singing songs with preschoolers! Working with preschoolers keeps me on my toes and excited to come into the classroom every morning. Their excitement and love for learning makes me strive to provide fun and challenging activities each day to support each child in developing his/her speech, language and communication skills, developing friendships—and have fun coming to preschool!
