In spite of the debate about when the school year should start, at DMPS we wonder: when does it end? That’s because activities take place at our schools nearly every day of the year. We’re excited to announce we’re beginning to accept preschool applications for the 2015-2016 school year. Head Start applications are being accepted now and Universal Preschool applications will be accepted beginning March 11. To find out more, click on the image.

The first day of Kindergarten 2015-2016 will be here before you know it! It’s an exciting time for staff and students, but it all starts with registration. Sign-up begins on March 11. Students who attend a Title I school in Des Moines may be eligible for tutoring services at no cost to their family. In order to be eligible students must attend one of the 25 Title I schools in Des Moines and meet low income guidelines. To learn more and to register, click on the headline.

Des Moines Parks and Recreation and Des Moines Public Schools are partnering to offer a youth basketball league for the 2014-2015 season. The program is for students in grades 1st through 7th. The registration deadline is October 17 and fees are $50 per student or $450 per team. Click the image to learn more and register to play.
